Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Tawde today claimed that its ally Shiv Sena has offered his party 126 seats in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls.
"Shiv Sena leader Subhash Desai has proposed 126 seats for the BJP, 155 seats for them and 7 seats for Swabhiman Sanghatana. These 126 seats include 9 seats that BJP has to give other regional partners, leaving 117 seats for the BJP. Subhash Desai has said that BJP president should get in touch with Uddhav Thackeray after thinking about this," Tawde said here.
Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Anil Desai said, "The BJP will inform us after their core committee meeting. There is no tension or tussle between us. We are waiting for the outcome of their core committee meeting. "
The Shiv Sena and the BJP have been bickering over the sharing of seats for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray indicating that he was interested in the Chief Minister's post.
