The Nova Scotia Community College and the Government of Canada are working together to strengthen the quality of post-secondary education provided in Cape Breton. Senator Michael L. MacDonald was at Marconi Campus in Sydney today on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (ACOA), to announce federal support for an NSCC Marconi Campus initiative.
The NSCC Marconi Campus will receive a federal contribution of $382,260, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, to assist with the delivery of courses related to export development, including the trade graduate internship program; export consulting assistance; export planning workshops; and, the student international in-market program. Exporting creates new business opportunities and the potential to increase sales for Cape Breton Island businesses. By having access to a larger market base, local companies can start producing on a scale that optimizes their resources.
