Arjun Bijlani aka Mayank from Miley Jab Hum Tum is turning daddy in real life. The actor got married to his longtime girlfriend on May 2013.

“Yes it’s true my wife is expecting. I was shocked initially and didn’t know how to react to the news. I was happy nervous and excited but I am ecstatic now. We didn’t plan as such but we were sure we would like to be young parents because right things should happen at the right time and family planning is one of them. I don’t think being a parent affects my life or career in any negative way; rather a child brings positivity in life. I am waiting to see how my son or daughter will look but there is a long wait as of now. It doesn’t matter it’s a boy or girl. He or she it’s ours,” said Arjun. Now that’s a great thought.

On being asked what his thoughts on fatherhood are he says, “I feel it will fill the vacuum in my life. I lost my father Sudarshan Bijlani when I was just 19. It was difficult to stand on your own feet as the biggest guide of a child’s life wasn’t there. His blessings were there and I have come up in life with a lot of struggle and hard work. The word papa has been missing from my life for so long. That will be back. My wife, Neha is constantly reading books and searching for information online about pregnancy and what are the dos and don’ts. I ideally want to keep the name with the alphabet A or may be N or a combination of the two. I keep a tab on how she is taking care of herself and what she should eat too. I try to be physically present at home as far as possible”.

So will fatherhood affect his TV career? “I am open to the idea f doing television. I can surely strike a balance between TV and films. There is no boundary between the two mediums,” replied the soon-to-be-daddy.
