The tinsel town of Bollywood woke up on Friday morning to a breaking news of Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty joining hands to reboot Subhash Ghai’s 1989 classicRam Lakhan. And ever since the announcement of the remake has been made, gossip mongers, movie buffs and filmi pandits have been busy predicting who would stand in the shoes of Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor in the modern day Ram Lakhan.
While the rumour mills are busy guessing the stars who could recreate the magic of 1989 flick, Bollywoodlife brings you three jodis whose onscreen camaraderie could immortalise Ram Lakhan in the memories of next generation:
Arjun Kapoor-Ranveer Singh
The bromance between the Gunday stars, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, is probably one of the best in the industry right now. After delivering a colossal hit together, the friendship between the two actors has become some sort of a legend, as they constantly find time to hangout with each other. Ranveer is even doing small cameos in Arjun’s Finding Fanny and Tevar. With their infectious energy and great bonding, wethinks Ranveer and Arjun could add a lot of flavour to new age Ram Lakhan.
Sidharth Malhotra-Varun Dhawan
They made their entry into Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year. But with a number of hit films in their kitty, they aren’t students in B-town anymore. While the duo has not done a film together after SOTY, their friendship has blossomed over the years and are considered to be BFF’s in Bollywood. With Sidharth showing his brooding side in Ek Villain and Varun Dhawan pulling off mischievous roles in style, Sid and Varun would perfectly fit in Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor’s roles respectively.
Ranbir Kapoor-Sushant Singh Rajput
Ranbir and Sushant may not have done a film together, but both actors have proved their mettle with terrific performances in the past. Also, both the stars are heartthrobs amongst the ladies. It would be fun to see Ranbir don a khaki uniform for a change and Sushant playing a lovable goon. In fact Sushant’s bonding with Rajkumaar Rao and Amit Sadh in Kai Po Che! was infectious, which makes us wonder how this odd but delightful pair of Ranbir and Sushant look as brothers in arms.
Hop in the bandwagon of guesses and speculations, and vote for your favourite pair who can do justice to the memorable characters of Ram and Lakhan!
