Supporting Lawn Bowls in Canada

Joy Smith, Member of Parliament (Kildonan–St. Paul), on behalf of the Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced up to $204,500 in funding for Bowls Canada Boulingrin. This funding, provided through Sport Canada’s Sport Support Program, supports the organization in delivering sport programming and developing the sport of lawn bowls in Canada. This funding was announced at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships.

  • Bowls Canada Boulingrin is the governing body responsible for lawn bowls in Canada. Its mission is to advance the conduct and development of lawn bowls by fostering international success, as well as to promote, foster and safeguard outdoor and indoor bowls in Canada through events and programs.
  • The 2014 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships run until August 23, 2014 at the St. James Lawn Bowling Club and the Norwood Lawn Bowling Club in Winnipeg. The Canadian Championship features events for men and women in the pairs, triples and fours disciplines.
