Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement:
“I am appalled by the reprehensible abduction and murder of a Palestinian teenager from East Jerusalem today. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this trying time.
“While the police have not yet identified his murderers or their motive, nothing can justify such an act. I call for calm and caution against all vigilantism.
“Canada hopes that the perpetrators of this heinous act will be swiftly brought to justice.”
