This fiction show will be aired on Doordarshan

Indian television has been flooded with crime based shows. While we already haveCrime Patrol, Savdhaan India, Gumrah and MTV Webbed on the telly tube, veteran actor Om Puri will soon be a part of another crime based show on Doordarshan.

The Hera Pheri actor was last seen in Govind Nihalani’s TV show Tamas. Now he’s back on television with a non-fiction crime show. Confirming the news Om said, “Yes, I will be hosting the show which touches on security concerns and how people can be better prepared.” The show is called Crime Control and deals with both fictional and non-fictional crime incidents. Puri further added, “The show will focus on such day-to-day life stories which could alert the viewers and tell them how they can take care of themselves in a better way.”

The Maqbool actor said that since he has never ventured into this genre and he is exited to experiment with the show. We hope it brings something different to the table than others that are already on air.
