Revolver Rani actor will be announcing the lead for Queen‘s South Indian remake in a couple of weeks
Queen has been the iconic film of 2014, perhaps the most important film in Kangana Ranaut’s career. So, when it was reported that the remake rights of Queen were sold to producer-director Thiagarajan, who is planning to remake it in all four major South Indian languages, it took the entire Southern India by storm. Soon speculations of which Southern heroine will step into the Kangy’s shoes started making headlines.
While many names have come to the fore, the makers are yet to finalise an actor to play Rani’s role. Sources claim that the lead would be roped in a couple of weeks and it would be made public by none other than original Queen Kangana Ranaut. Producer Thiagarajan has confirmed that,”Yes, when the official announcement is made, Kangana Ranaut will crown the queen herself. It is most likely to happen in the next couple of weeks.”
When asked if he can hint who could be the South Indian Queen, the tight lipped producer mentioned,”We are considering many names. Whoever has the appropriate dates to allot to the film will be finalized. That is all I can reveal now.”
While Lisa Haydon is currently being approached to reprise her role in remake, actor Prashanth may be roped in to fill in Rajkummar Rao’s shoes. The picture of Queen‘s remake is still very hazy and it is expected to be cleared within a fortnight. Eager fans will have to wait some more before the ever growing suspense on who would be crowned as Queen down south is out in the open.
