The Honourable Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), today announced the Government of Canada’s two-year contribution of more than $7.9 million to the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).

Quick Facts

• The CAC is a not-for-profit amateur sport organization with the mandate to lead, deliver, and promote ethically sound coaching training. It delivers the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in collaboration with national sport organizations, provincial and territorial governments, and coaching and sport organizations.
• The CAC designed and developed the NCCP through a partnership with Sport Canada, national sport organizations, and provincial and territorial governments. More than 1 million coaches in Canada have taken at least one NCCP course since the inception of the program in 1974.
