OTTAWA -
I was thrilled to once again host the popular Music Night and showcase some of Canada’s best and brightest stars in the music industry.
This unforgettable evening left me with a deeper sense of pride in our country’s dynamic, brilliant musicians and artists.
Our guest artists, folk-rock singer-songwriter Lisa Leblanc and electronic music group A Tribe Called Red, have made waves and enriched the lives of many, both at home and abroad, with their unique styles,.
Canada’s recording industry is the seventh-largest in the world, generating almost $3 billion in economic activity every year. Thanks to the calibre of our artists, Canada is the third-largest exporter of musical talent in the world. Our Government is proud to contribute to the vitality of this industry through initiatives such as the Canada Music Fund.
I would like to give special thanks to Music Canada and Quebecor for organizing this very special musical evening.
