Dibakar Bannerjee has come together with Yash Raj Films for his long time associate Kanu Behl’s directorial debut Titli.

The film is the official selection from India at this year’s installment of the prestigious international film festival held at Cannes.

Before departing the film to Cannes, Dibankar and director Kanu held a press conference at the YRF studio to talk about their venture. The trailer was showcased first and the film looks promising; no surprises there.

On being probed whether the move to co-produce with YRF, which is known for making Bollywood extravaganzas like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayeinge etc., was one to make off-beat cinema the new mainstream cinema, the Oye Lucky Lucky Oye director said, “To a certain extent, yes.” He added, “It is the love for the business of film-making that both YRF and Dibakar Bannerjee Productions shares. I like how YRF stands behind each and every film of its. That is probably why the decision to co-produce Titli with YRF came about.”

Well we are most excited to see Titli dazzle at one of the most sought-after international film festivals and we hope that like Titli and the upcoming flick Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Dibakar and YRF further their alliance.
