The Break Ke Baad actor is on a sabbatical, however he is busy promoting various causes. The actor who is championing the cause of gay rights in India feels he has been misunderstood by some
Imran Khan has been one of the leading actors from Bollywood, who has openly supported the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgenders) rights movement in India. The actor has time and again been vocal about his opinions in favour of the community. Even if his visibility as an actor has diminished he has made appearances for causes. His major contribution towards this cause was when he collaborated with the team of All India Bakchod (AIB) to make a video on homosexuality and the common notions that surround this subject.
The video used sarcasm as a tool to convey their point of view – being gay was nowhere different from being straight. At a recent United Nations event actor Imran Khan said, “The video was made in support of homosexuality, where some appreciated, some had their own point of view towards it and some completely missed the point.” On being asked how does his family react to his support to the cause, the Gori Tere Pyar Mein actor said, “My family supports me in everything that I do.”
Imran on April 30 launched the LGBT rights activist and actor Celina Jaitley's video called The Welcome which promotes gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgenders’ rights.
