The Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Cancrew Enterprises Limited and the Canadian Merchant Service Guild on ratifying a new collective agreement.

The new collective agreement, reached with the assistance of mediators from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, was ratified on March 31, 2014.

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

Quick Facts

• Cancrew Enterprises manages four crude oil shuttle tankers serving the Hibernia, Terra Nova, and White Rose offshore oil fields in Newfoundland and Labrador.
• The Canadian Merchant Service Guild represents all licensed Canadian employees (approximately 110) of Cancrew Enterprises employed aboard the company’s shuttle tankers.
