The singer who made her acting debut in Nagesh Kukunoor’s recently released movie Laxmi chatted with trade expert Komal Nahta on the latter’s popular chat show ETC Bollywood Business. Watch video to catch full interview!

Monali Thakur was busy enjoying her jamming with popular film director Abbas Tyrewala’s house for a music album. Little did the young singer know that somebody in that party was observing Monali very closely and possibly making calculations in his head if the young singer could fit the bill for his next directorial venture? Yes, Nagesh Kukunoor was present there and he thought that this singer could play the lead role in his gripping film on child prostitution and human trafficking. But wasn’t Monali scared to play this dark character who is forced into prostitution. After all not many would want to make their Bollywood debuet with a dark, thought provoking drama. “ No in fact I was more than excited to do this movie. I think it was one of the most unique characters to play as a debuet. I could not believe that this was happening to me I was getting to work with Kukunoor sir,” maintained Monai in her chat with film trade expert Komal Nahta.
