Four people spent the night outdoors in a sprawling Quebec park Sunday after their hot air balloon was forced to make a crash-landing near Ottawa. Police said the balloon was forced down by high winds near Luskville, Que., northwest of Ottawa, at around 9 p.m. Sunday. The hot-air-balloon crew managed to land the balloon in a wooded area of Gatineau Park. Four people have been rescued by police after their hot air balloon crashed in a wooded area near Luskville, Que. Sunday night. A rescue effort to reach the four individuals -- two crew members and two passengers – was launched shortly after the crash but then quickly called off because of high water levels in the area. Rescuers were eventually able to contact the group by cellphone. The four managed to make a fire as they waited in the park overnight. The rescue operation resumed Monday morning and the group was found shortly before 8 a.m. The balloon is owned by the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival.
