The Honourable Deepak Obhrai, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and for International Human Rights, today issued the following statement:
“Canada condemns today’s attack on a Hindu temple in Pakistan. We are deeply concerned by the violent disregard of extremists in Pakistan for the right of all religious communities to practice their faith in peace and security.
“Canada will continue to condemn the lack of religious freedom in Pakistan as well as attacks on places of worship. We call for an immediate investigation into this attack and the prosecution of those responsible.”
