In Ram Gopal Varma's ‘Sarkar’ (2005) and ‘Sarkar Raj’ (20008), Amitabh Bachchan played a role which looked inspired from late Bal Thackeray and if the reports are to be believed Anil Kapoor's role in Sanjay Gupta's next ‘Mumbai Saga’ is also inspired the from the late politician.
The story of ‘Mumbai Saga’ is written by S Hussain Zaidi and the dialogues are penned by Milap Zaveri. Milap had written the dialogues for ‘Shootout At Wadala’ also which was based on Zaidi's book ‘Dongri to Dubai’.
Well, let us inform you that Prashant Pandey, who had crafted Sr. Bachchan’s character in ‘Sarkar Raj’, is working with Robin Bhatt on the screenplay of ‘Mumbai Saga’.
A source close to the development said, "Besides Balasaheb, Anil's character also borrows elements from Vasai-Virar strongman Bhai Thakur and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar. Sanjay is working closely with Hussain and Milap and is providing valuable inputs to build the character."
Sanjay Gupta, the director of the film said, "It's too early to talk about the character since the film is still being written. But yes, it is inspired by some real politicians who were instrumental in converting Bombay to Mumbai and changing the city's landscape."
