Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement:
“I was deeply saddened by news of the crash of a military transport plane in eastern Algeria today, which has claimed scores of lives.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I wish to offer my sincere condolences to the families and friends of those killed in this tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the people of Algeria as they face this terrible tragedy.”
