Amitabh Bachchan and Tusshar Kapoor to come together for Khakee sequel

After numerous sequels, now comes the sequel to the 2004 hit

Sequels have become the flavour of the season. The makers of the Akshay Kumar-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Khakee have decided to come up with a second part of the police crime saga.

Keshu Ramsey had produced the first part of the film and after his death, son Aryeman is all pumped up to start work on the sequel. Thirty-three-year old Aryeman debuted as an actor with his home production Family – Ties of Blood, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. Post his father’s death he was heartbroken and this film would mark his comeback into the industry. He will co-produce the venture along with Rahul Sugandh, son of Hari Sugandh. Confirming the development, Aryeman told a leading daily, “I had been thinking of producing a film for a while now. And what better than a follow-up to my dad’s Khakee?”

Raj Kumar Santoshi, who directed the first instalment, is considering directing the sequel too. Aryeman will be talking to Bachchan who played DCP Anant Kumar Shrivastav, and Tusshar who enacted the role of Sub-Inspector Ashwin Gupte, for his film. “Akshay, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai died in the first part so they cannot be a part of the sequel,” reasoned Aryeman.

The filmmakers are all ready to start shooting but the earliest possible dates available from the actors would be next year. So we would have to wait till then to see if making this police drama all over again was good decision or not. Hai na peeps?
