India lose second ODI by 15 runs

 India lost to New Zealand by 15 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method in the rain-affected second ODI at the Seddon Park here Wednesday.

Chasing a rain-revised target of 297 runs from 42 overs, India managed 277 for nine in 41.3 overs and were forced off the ground as rain interrupted the game for the third time. Virat Kohli was the top scorer with 78 while Mahendra Singh Dhoni made 56.

New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee picked up four for 72 while Corey Anderson got three for 67.

Earlier, New Zealand made 271 for seven in 42 overs. Kane Williamson was the top scorer with 77 while Ross Taylor made 57.

India now trail the five-match series 2-0.
