The third ODI at the Super Sports Park was washed out as South Africa took the series 2-0 against India here Wednesday.
Heavy rains over two and a half hours prompted the umpires to call off the match after just one innings.
Quinton de Kock struck his third consecutive ODI century while skipper AB de Villiers got his 16th as South Africa piled up a competitive 301 for eight in 50 overs.
India were about to start their innings when the rain gods came down heavily and held up the game.
South Africa finished the series with a 2-0 win having won in Johannesburg and Durban.
Opting to bat first, South Africa overcame a nervous start to reach a challenging 301 for eight in 50 overs.
Double strikes from Ishant Sharma (4/40) reduced South Africa to 28/3 but key innings from De Kock and De Villiers, who stitched a 171-run stand for the fourth wicket,A bailed out the Proteas.
De Kock made 101 while De Villiers got his 109 off 101 balls. David Miller also struck a quickfire unbeaten 56 off 34 balls.
Ishant was the pick of the Indian bowlers with four for 40 while Mohammed Shami bagged three for 69.
The ODI series will be followed by two Tests. The first Test starts Dec 16 in Johannesburg and the second will be played from Dec 26 in Durban.
