Can't comment on Congress supporting AAP: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Dec 11

Harsh Vardhan, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate in Delhi, Wednesday said it was up to the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress to cobble together an alliance to form the government in the capital.

"I won't comment on Congress considering support to AAP. If they want to form a government in Delhi, they can very well do that," Harsh Vardhan told IANS.

Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Tuesday told media that the party was mulling giving unconditional support to AAP from outside.

The Delhi polls returned a hung house with both the AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party not able to reach the majority figure of 36.

Harsh Vardhan, who was elected leader of the BJP legislature party Tuesday, said the BJP would not try to form the government in an "unethical" manner.

"The situation is the same as it was 24 hours ago. We will not take the initiative to form the government and not indulge in any sort of horse trading," he told IANS.

Delhi seems to be headed for President's Rule if none of the two parties are able to form the government.
