Kabul, Dec 10 (IANS)
Three Afghan children lost their lives and another was wounded in an explosion in the Afghanistan province of Saripul Monday, a doctor in a local hospital said Tuesday.
"Unfortunately, a bomb blast claimed the lives of three children and injured another in Sabz Qala district yesterday evening but we in the hospital could not save their lives," Ahmad Ahmadi told Xinhua.
Ahmadi, who serves as medical doctor in a district hospital in Saripul province, said that the explosive device, left over from past conflicts, claimed the lives of innocent children who were grazing sheep and goats on a pasture near their mountainous village.
Millions of mines and unexploded ordinances left from past conflicts are believed to be lying in the war-torn nation.
