A Cyprus-based firm has registered a case of cheating with the Economic Offences Wing against Abhishek Verma, an accused in the Navy War Room leak case, and Siddharth Tytler, son of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, and their associates for allegedly duping it of 1.1 million dollars on the pretext of setting up a mobile company, police said.

A complaint in this regard was lodged Thursday by Joseph Rubinstein after which a case was registered under Sections 420, 467, 468, 406, 471, 120-B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

According to complainant Rubinstein, Verma and Tytler asked him to put seed money in their telecom venture in India.

However, the duo later allegedly fled with the money, police said.
