Kolkata, Nov 21
The city's theatre circuit is all set to go youthful thanks to a fest that will bring together youngsters from diverse backgrounds on a common platform.
"Teatro!-Stage Your Story" scheduled for Dec 1 will showcase five plays by youngsters including street children who otherwise do not get a chance to express themselves.
"The idea is to break free and theatre provides a route to express that. We are trying to bring the youth back to theatre...make it interesting for them," Priyam Dasgupta, director of Sixth Sense, the organiser, told IANS Thursday.
For the last two months, the organisers have been screening several groups with interesting scripts and ideas.
"The only criteria was that the content and performances should be good...production doesn't matter."
A winner will be selected from the five performances and the reward includes money and a theatre workshop to hone their skills.
