Director Praveen Sataru has named his upcoming Telugu drama "Chandamama Kathalu" after his childhood story book of the same name because he feels the title is apt for the movie's script.

"I grew up listening to 'Chandamama Kathalu'. My grandmother used to read them to me and I fondly remember them for the collection of stories in them. I decided to name my film after the book because my story is about the day-to-day experiences of multiple characters," Praveen told IANS.

"There are multiple small stories in the larger story of my film. I thought this title would perfectly fit the bill, and therefore, I named it after the book," he added.

The film features an ensemble cast of Vijaya Naresh, Aamani, Krishna Chaitanya, Krishnudu aka Alluri Krishnam Raju, Richa Panai and Lakshmi Manchu.

"Audiences will appreciate the title when they watch the film. I'm sure they will connect with the characters and understand why we have named our film after children's story book," said Sataru, known for helming films such as "Life Before Marriage" and "Routine Love Story".
