The Honourable Kevin Sorenson, Minister of State (Finance), today held pre-budget consultations in Edmonton with business representatives, community leaders and academics. This roundtable discussion marks the second in a series of events in communities across the country aimed at engaging Canadians in Economic Action Plan 2014 deliberations.
“Our Government is squarely focused on creating jobs and opportunities by protecting the economy and keeping taxes low,” said Minister Sorenson. “Since Canadians have a stake in achieving these goals, they should also have a say in how we reach them. With these consultations, I look forward to hearing their views on how we can work together to create an environment where business and families can grow and prosper.”
“I am looking forward to hearing from this diverse group of individuals from both Alberta and across the country about how we can help strengthen our economy,” said Minister Sorenson. “We are particularly interested in hearing specific suggestions in support of our core priorities of creating jobs and securing economic growth in the midst of a fragile and uncertain global economy while remaining on track to balance the budget in 2015.”
