Calgary: A Calgary zookeeper is recouping after a gorilla bit her hand Friday morning.
The occurrence happened in the Calgary Zoo's gorilla display at some point after 9 a.m. said Alberta Occupational Health and Safety, which is researching the case.
"An encountered zookeeper was outside the gorilla holding cell when she was chomped on a finger on her right hand," OHS representative Jennifer Dagsvik said.
An associate drove the harmed guardian to the healing facility, not an emergency vehicle, said zoo agent Laurie Skene.
The zookeeper's current condition isn't known, yet Skene said the damage wasn't recognized life-undermining.
Notwithstanding the commonplace Ohs test, the zoo will direct an inner examination, Skene said.
Less than three weeks back, some of the zoo's six gorillas escaped their nook at the zoo and rushed toward the attendant kitchen.
Not a single person was harmed in the episode however two female zookeepers were taught after a zoo examination dead set human failure was to be faulted for the break.
Less than seven months prior, an assembly of gorillas break away through the same entryway into the guardian kitchen. A veteran manager who was harmed by one of the primates in that episode later lost his job.
