Pakistan beat South Africa by 7 wickets

Pakistan stunned World No.1 Test side South Africa by seven wickets here Thursday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, to go 1-0 up in the two-match series.

Spinner Saeed Ajmal picked four wickets in the second innings and was ably supported by pacer Junaid Khan (3-57) as South Africa were bowled out for 232, setting Pakistan a meagre target of 40 runs to chase on the fourth day.

Pakistan, still made heavy weather of the target losing three wickets for seven runs. But Younis Khan (9 not out) and Misbah-ul-Haq (28 not out) kept their cool to take their team past the finishing line.

The second and final Test starts in Dubai from Oct 23.

South Africa 249 (Hashim Amla 118; Irfan 3-44) and 232 (AB de Villiers 90, Saeed Ajmal 4-74) lost to Pakistan 442 (Manzoor 146, Misbah 100) and 45 for 3
