ipc498a has become a joke and WMD (weapon of mans destruction). men are being imprisoned without even a hearing. at present scales of indian legal system are heavily tilted in favour of women and I strongly urge Supreme Court to show "tilted scale" as their logo/emblem. Where is the penalty for false implication? as per a survey, 85% of such proceedings are found to be wrong.? in case this provision of imprisonment without even a hearing is deemed to be correct, it needs to be balanced by addition of a clause " in case it is determined that the cases lodged for domestic violence and dowry were false then the spouse and same no. of her relatives will be imprisoned for 5 times the length of time the Defendant and his relatives were kept in jail." I am not saying that such cases lodged by women are always wrong. but indians must not forget that women like sita and draupadi were central to the epic wars where thousands of innocents lost their lives and no one has ever thought of building a memorial or temple in the memory of those unfortunate victims. !!
