Zimbabwe has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in Africa, or 10 women die everyday from pregnancy-related complications. Starting in 2011, the World Bank has partnered with the Health Ministry in projects that aim to reach the most marginalized and vulnerable rural households with benefits of improved quality, efficiency and access to health facilities especially to pregnant mother before and after birth.
