Around 20,000 athletes competed in three races of the event, formerly known as the Eurasia Marathon. The marathon boasts the only course in the world involving two continents, Asia and Europe, in one race. French runner Abraham Kiprotich won the male Marathon with a time of 2:12:28, and Kenya runner Rebecca Kangogo Cheshire won the female Marathon with a time of 2:29:05.
